"The Big Test"

Columnist David Brooks seems to be skeptical of Obama and his administrations plans for as he quotes "Creating three million jobs, to redesign the health care system, to save the auto industry, to revive the housing industry, to reinvent the energy sector, to revitalize the banks, to reform the schools-and to do it all while cutting the deficit in half." Brooks concern is that Obama is trying to tackle every major problem at once rather than trying to go about it gradually and over a period of time. The columnist argues that "the Obama administration is in a galaxy of the unknowns, and yet they see this economic crisis as an opportunity to expand their reach, and to take bigger risks." I for one agree and disagree with Brooks. I agree with the fact that I think Obama should tackle each major problem one at a time rather than all at once. The issue would be better resolved and carefully looked at, versus the bill being done rapidly and not carefully thought through. On the other hand I would have to disagree with Brooks on the fact that yes the Obama administration is in the unknown when it comes to how these changes are going to effect the economy and the whole world, but the changes could be what the United States needs to help us get out this financial burden that the Bush era created for us. Each and every one of these problems needs to be address and soon. All we can do is just cross our fingers and hope that Obama and his administration can pull the United States back up on our feet again.
